1. Preparation For The Gananyaan Crew Model
ISRO space director Dr. Unnikrishnan Nair published an article in the Manorama yearbook that details this mission.
The mission’s progress was first an uncrewed mission flight at the end of this year, 2022.
The next step will be after the successful uncrewed mission is to validate the performance of the crew escape system, which will become an integral part of the system. It is the first step of the Gaganyaan mission.
2. Gaganyaan Orbital Module
The Gaganyaan human space flight orbital module has two essential parts. The first part is the Crew module, and the second is the Service module. It weighs around 8000kgs.
The OM will orbit the Earth with an average speed of 7800m/s. In addition, a human-related launch vehicle will be used in the Orbital module.
The modified version of this vehicle is the GSLV MK III launch vehicle. As a result, India will launch the human space flight missions for the first time.
3. Development Of Command Module
The command module is built with a double-walled system. In addition, it has an ablative thermal protection system.

Dr. Nair further stated that the command module is well equipped with a complete survival packet for each crew member in the fight to support them for nearly two minimum days. The recovery team can rescue them while they land at either of the two sites.
4. Selection Of The Astronauts
Four Indian Airforce Officers got the opportunity as the crew members of this mission. ISRO has kept the identities of these astronauts to be confidential.
They have completed the foreign leg of their training, and the Indian leg was also commenced. During the training of these astronauts, they have undergone generic space flight training.
The chances are that Indian astronauts will get accustomed to all the conceivable situations during the space flight.
All the crew members will undergo training on how to stay stable in a weightless situation during the space flight. In the aircraft in a perfect parabolic path for about 25-30 seconds during weightlessness training.
5. Arrangements For Training Session For The Crew
All the crew members will have to undergo special survival training for the abort conditions in the sea, desert, snow, and mountain conditions.

6. Unmanned Mission At The End Of The Year

All the tests are in progress with the help of the L110 Vikas engine. These things are now available in the Cryogenic stage.
The crew escape system motors and the service module are present in the population system. The application of the S200 motors has been set for the ground test.
